Effet cottage en blanc : le buffet rustique repeint à la chaux | White cottage feel : the rustic armoire repainted with lime

Après quelques semaines pour voir l’évolution du badigeon de chaux/sel d’alun, certains côtés plus cirés que d’autres s’émiettent rustiquement comme prévu. L’avantage du choix de la chaux était qu’au moindre regret, un coup de karsher redonnerait à ce meuble régional sa teinte d’origine. Pour l’instant, ce blanc scandinave est particulièrement heureux avec cette météo si grise. Et malgré toute cette pluie, ou à cause d’elle, des marguerites et des violettes ont fait leur apparition au jardin dès janvier en ouvrant le printemps très en avance.

I was a bit anxious to see how my DIY lime paint would turn out. As anticipated, it goes into shabby chic flakes on patches that used to be more waxed than others. The significant advantage of lime is that in case of regret, I could clean the paint easily to give back the armoire its original tint. But I am more than pleased with the soft Scandinavian feel of old white, being given the unusually long grey rainy days period we have had. And in spite or because of all this rain a strange phenomenon is occurring in the garden, daisies and violets have showed up in January, a very early start for spring blooms.
